MY TRIP TO HEAVEN,GOKYORE

EXPLORING THE BEAUTY WITHIN THE COUNTRY

It’s a very typical of mankind to be attracted and struggling for the external beauty rather than hunting and appreciating for the internal ones. Many of us always regret for not getting a chance to visit the western world without even realizing the fact that they fail to explore their own country and same happens with me here until  I  got to hear a mouthful of praises from other’s about the adventurous beauty  present in Nepal but we as a Nepalese never realize it’s importance.

So the trip start’s when I was working as a House Officer Doctor in Manipal hospital, Pokhara a city with natural beauty, where we have lots of foreign students coming from different parts of the world for their doctorate study.

The thing that nurtures my thoughts to be a part of this trek was from my interest to see documentary movies made in Nepal especially of these remote hilly Mountainair areas which helps us to know our country well even if we are unable to reach there. It was ultimately in 2005 when I found a wings for my dreams to flyyyyy

My Country NEPAL, my PRIDE

The mysterious, exotic Nepal is a mixture of mountains  and ancient culture with magical land of superlatives and a place with absolute delight for any person in this world.
It’s a dream come true for most of the mountain lovers to view eyeful scene of Mt. Everest. So Gokyo is an alternative and exception of the traditional Everest base Camp. It offers a magnificent view of the mountain  peaks, Glaciers, and a view of one of the largest peak in the world Mt. Everest.

It was a trek to Gokyo - Ri  in October 2005

Gokyo  trek begins with the spectacular mountain flight to Lukla, 2840.m height. Lukla is the meeting point of the Himalayan foothills and the Himalayan range. The trail winds north towards the village of Gokyo and then up to the Summit of Gokyo –Ri  at 5350meters, 17550ft.

Journey to Gokyo

From Lukla we start trekking to Phakding, Namche Bazaar,  Dole, Machhermo and finally to Gokyo on day 6.

A trek to GOKYO  features the unbelievable scenery of the remote Gokyo valley, turquoise lakes, moonscape-like glaciers, and stunning mountain views. The most outstanding feature of this trail was abundance of plants vegetation like wild flowers, Rhododendrons and animals spotting wild lives like musk deer, mountain goats, yaks, pheasants.

Gokyo is also famous for the six lakes which it hosts. A cluster of the most scenic  cobalt blue lakes i.e. Longpongo,Taboche tsho, Dudh pokhari, is seen on the way from Machharma to Gokyo. Gokyo village is located at the foot of the Gokyo-Ri. Gokyo village stands by the third lake which become fascinated by the sparkling turquoise blue sheet of water dazzling in the sun and Cho-Oyu mountain as a backdrop sets as amazing spectacular sight here.

Finally exploring Gokyo Ri on Day 7 which is the highlight of the trip and is a steep climbing. As we gain height the view gets increasingly enchanting before us. While ascending ,there are stunning views of the Gokyo valley, the fourth and the fifth lake – Thonak –Tsho and Ngozuma, and a massive Ngozumpa Glacier, one of the largest glacier in Nepal  .While we come to the top of the pass decorated with prayer flags, we stopped at the top to admire the grandstand views of the surrounding snow capped mountains and valleys and an incredible 360’degree panoramic view of the whole Khumbu mountains range such giants as Mt.Everest, Mt.Lhotse, Mt.Nuptse, Mt.Makalu, Mt.Cho-Oyu and Mt.Gychung Kang . This day we have for acclimatization, back to the Gokyo .

Next on day 8, while descending down from Gokyo we trek down to small villages rich in hospitality and culture like villages of Phortse, Tengboche,  Monjo, Namche bazar .  We walked far and forward walking at the mountains feet, through forest, some eye catchy waterfalls  and crossing hanging bridges and  river banks with all peace and calmness of the true nature to reach Lukla  again.

This trek  was just like my dream come true, where man really fails to believe his eye. The trek features the unbelievable scenery of the remote hidden Valley and its festival of beautiful turquoise lakes,  glaciers, and stunning mountain vistas. It is a place compiling the beauty of land, desert, mountains, river, lakes, plants, animals and human with hospitality all together in one.
