- Small regular frequent meals. Avoidance of dieting.
- Food rich in fibers(25gm/1000K cal) like whole grain, cereals, pulses, vegetables(300gm/day), Fruits(100gm/day) should be included in the diet to avoid constipation.
- Good quality protein is derived from milk, meat, poultry and eggs. However a proper combination of cereals pulses and nuts also provides adequate proteins. And Low carbohydrate diet
- Minerals and vitamins requirement should be met by consuming a variety of seasonal vegetables particularly green leafy vegetables, milk and fresh fruits.
- Plenty of fluids ( 8- 12 glasses [250ml/glass] of water per day) need to be included in the diet .
- Limited consumption of fried /oily, salty and spicy food
- Excess intake of beverages containing caffeine like coffee and tea should be avoided as it may adversely affect fetal growth. About 20-200mg/day is considered as low doses.
- Take Vitamin Supplements as advised by your Doctor because certain Vitamin and Micro nutrient deficiency in mother during pregnancy can lead adverse fetal outcome especially: Iron, Folic acid, Iodine, Vit D, Vit-B12 . So get timely investigated and corrected with your Doctor’s advice.
- Avoid being obese – mild to moderate exercise would be helpful.
